In addition to food deliveries during the school year, thousands of additional packages of food are distributed during the summer as the charity, with support from Project Hunger, works with the Feed and Read program of United Way. Their goal is to ensure that elementary school children, at least on weekends, will have basic nutrition. In addition to fun activities and delicious fare, this event will feature a private showing of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” at the Oaks Stadium 10.Īll proceeds from this event will benefit The Children’s Hunger Project, which helps as many Brevard County elementary school children as possible to carry food home for the weekend in their backpack.
